Pennsylvania IBD to close on Black Friday, donate pay to children's home

Published November 17, 2016

EASTON, Pa. (BRAIN) — Genesis Bicycles plans to close on Black Friday, Nov. 25, just as it did last year. This year the store's staff has decided to donate their pay for that day to The Children's Home of Easton.

The salary donated will total about $1,000. Genesis will also pay the sales tax, up to $120, on any purchase made during their sale Saturday, Nov. 26 through Monday, Nov. 28 for any customer who makes a monetary or wish list item donation to The Children's Home.

Genesis also has named the Home as the recipient of its 2017 BikesGiving charitable initiative. BikesGiving launched last spring and raised over $2,000 for the Home. Genesis donates a penny for every mile a participant rides throughout the year. Riders can register for free and submit their miles at www.bikesgiving.com.

The Children's Home of Easton is a private, non-profit organization established in 1885. It provides a caring, nurturing environment for children in need and assistance to their families.

Genesis Bicycles has been locally owned and operated by Easton resident Tomias Hinchcliff since 1974.
