Jenson USA holiday bike program/employee bike commute challenge starts Thursday

Published May 27, 2015

RIVERSIDE, Calif. (BRAIN) — Jenson USA is kicking off its annual bike donation program on Thursday with a group employee bike commute and breakfast.

The program, being held this year for the fourth time, ties Jenson employee bike commute goals to the donation of bikes to elementary students. Last year 60 students received new bikes from the program. The students are selected for academic achievement and scholastic improvement.

Jenson USA employees have six months to rack up aggregated bike commute mileage to hit goals. Each time a goal is hit, Jenson donates another bike to the donation program.

Michael Cachat, founder and CEO of Jenson USA, said, "This is the earliest we have ever started the program, but because it's such an important ingredient of our ongoing community outreach effort to promote bicycling, it just seemed appropriate."

"A bicycle should be an integral part of every child's experience," he said. "We are very fortunate to partner with the East Hills Business Council of Riverside to continue this special holiday tradition. With the support and dedication of our employees, I know we will be able to make this an even more joyous and memorable holiday season for scores of youngsters than ever before."
