Shimano offers two-day tech training sessions at California office this winter

Published November 3, 2014

IRVINE, Calif. (BRAIN) — This winter Shimano American is offering intensive, hands-on two-day training sesssion for shop technical staff at the company's office here.

The sessions, tailored for service managers, lead mechanics, and technical sales staff, include more than 13 hours of training.

The curriculum will focus on 11-speed mountain bike drivetrains, electronic shifting for off-road riders and road hydraulic disc brakes. It also will include "bread-and-butter service parts," the company said.

"Shimano leads the industry with our e-learning program, but nothing beats face-to-face training where you interact with the product and our staff of expert technical instructors," said Shimano's TEC (Technology Education and Certification) manager, Dave Arnauckas.

"We're expanding on the curriculum we offer at our popular Interbike tech seminars during 10 sessions in the first two months of 2015. There's never an ideal time for a busy shop to send their key staff away to training. By spreading available sessions over two months during the winter we hope to give choices that meet our retailers' busy schedules."

Available class dates are: January 5-6, 8-9, 12-13, 15-16, 26-27 and 29-30 and February 2-3, 5-6, 23-24 and 26-27

Tuition for each student is $350, which includes all ground transportation in Orange County, lodging, and food. Several tiers of tuition subsidies are offered which may lower the cost to zero, depending on the student's level of training on S-TEC and other factors.
