SEATTLE (BRAIN) — REI has been named to Fortune magazine's "100 Best Companies to Work For" list for the 17th consecutive year.
The company was ranked 69th on the list this year, and is one of only five companies that have been on the list every year since the list was created in 1998.
REI has 132 stores in 33 states, with more than 11,000 employees. It offers its employees gear and apparel discounts, free equipment rentals and challenge grants to help reach personal outdoor goals, retirement plan contributions, public transit subsidies, adoption assistance, paid sabbaticals, and more.
Fortune works with the Great Place to Work Institute to conduct an employee survey that leads to the list; this year 257 firms participated in the survey.
