Selling Cycling 2008: Selling Baby Boomers

Published May 26, 2008

BOULDER, CO (BRAIN)—The Selling Coasting staff training program, extolling the virtues of Shimano's Coasting concept and Coasting bikes from seven manufacturers, went live in early April. Through a partnership with SockGuy, a pair of special-makeup Coasting socks are now in the hands of the first wave of trainees.

“It’s a great deal for us,“ said Shannon Bryant, project coordinator for Shimano's Coasting Program. “SockGuy makes it really easy for us by managing the individual shipments. This is a great opportunity for us to thank bike retailers dedicated to providing a quality shopping experience through continued training.”

SockGuy's Michael Foley also likes the arrangement. "It bonds us stronger with our supplier clients and gets us shipping to more stores, which are both good things," said Foley. "We're looking forward to doing more of these training incentives with Growth Cycle and the sponsoring brands."

Socks will be awarded to the first 500 store employees to take the Selling Coasting training and 10-question quiz, produced by Growth Cycle.
