Gazelle USA recalls some Urban Arrow cargo e-bikes because of faulty seatpost bolt

Published October 1, 2026

WASHINGTON (BRAIN) — Gazelle USA is recalling about 1,150 Urban Arrow cargo e-bikes because the front seatpost clamping bolt can break.

In addition to the approximate 1,032 bikes sold in the U.S., another 134 were sold in Canada. No injuries have been reported. There have been nine reports of damage or wear to the seatpost connection.

Consumers should contact Gazelle USA to receive a free replacement seatpost and saddle that they can either install or have it replaced at an Urban Arrow dealer at no charge. A recall registration form needs to be completed beforehand.

The recalled cargo bikes were manufactured in the Netherlands and have model descriptions Urban Arrow Family (in black and white), Urban Arrow Shorty (in black and white), Urban Arrow Cargo L/XL (in black and white) and Urban Arrow Tender 1000/1500 (in white). The frame is made of aluminum with a reinforced foam (EPP) cargo box. "Urban Arrow" is printed on the bottom of the cargo box. The seatposts have two silver bolts.

The cargo bikes were sold at speciality retailers nationwide from 2016 through 2022 for about $9,000.
