WASHINGTON (BRAIN) — The Consumer Product Safety Commission issued a warning to stop riding CARBO folding Model X and Model S e-bikes because they fail mandatory safety reflector requirements.
In addition, the Model X e-bike doesn't have chain guards, posing crash and laceration hazards.
The warning affects 480 e-bikes. The CPSC issued a Notice of Violation to manufacturer Veco Electric Bicycle Inc., operating as CARBO Electric Bike of Canada. CARBO Electric Bike has not agreed to offer an acceptable remedy to consumers, according to the CPSC.
The e-bikes were sold at Ridecarbo.com and in stores at Greenpath Electric Bikes from November 2020 through December 2026 for between $2,200 and $2,900.
