MORGAN HILL, Calif. (BRAIN) — Specialized is working with U.S. and Canadian authorities to recall about 8,300 aerobars that were sold individually and as part of some complete Shiv aero bike models. The bars were sold from 2011 until February this year.

SALT LAKE CITY (BRAIN) — Scott USA is recalling about 1,450 Vanish Evo bike helmets because they do not meet the CPSC's impact requirements.

INDIANAPOLIS (BRAIN) — Zipp is working with the CPSC to recall some first-generation model 88 front hubs because of a concern about a retaining ring that can fail, resulting in "an ejection" of all the wheel's spokes. The relevant hubs were manufactured between 2008 and 2010.

IRVINE, Calif. (BRAIN) —  Pedego Electric Bikes is voluntarily recalling the batteries from every e-bike it produced between January 2010 and September 2013.

WASHINGTON (BRAIN) — The German helmet brand UVEX is recalling nearly 47,000 helmets sold in the U.S. from 2009 through June 2014 because the helmets' chinstraps can fail.

MINNEAPOLIS (BRAIN) — QBP's Salsa Cycles is recalling about 2,500 aluminum Salsa Bearpaw forks sold separately and on Mukluk bicycles. 

According to Salsa, the fork steerers can bend or break.

IRVINE, Calif. (BRAIN) — Felt Bicycles is working with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission to recall about 150 cyclocross bikes because the frames can break. The company said Tuesday that it has already located and replaced 127 of the relevant frames.

FERNDALE, Wash. (BRAIN) — Kona has recalled its 2014 Wo fat bike due to concerns that the fork can crack or break at the junction of the crown and steerer column. In a notice on its website, Kona said there has been one U.S. report of a steerer tube breaking, with no injury reported.

WASHINGTON (BRAIN) — Louis Garneau Sports is recalling about 1,180 aero bike helmets because of concerns about how the helmet material provides head protection in cold weather. The company is cooperating with the U.C. Consumer Product Safety Commission on the recall.

WASHINGTON (BRAIN) — Orbea is working with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission to recall about 715 Avant bikes and framesets, because of concerns over cracking forks. The relevant forks were for use with disc brakes.

WASHINGTON (BRAIN) — Dynacraft is recalling about 3,100 youth bikes, sold exclusively at Toys"R"Us, because the front wheel can fall off. 

Consumer are being told to stop using the bikes and to contact Dynacraft for a free repair. 

CALGARY, Alberta (BRAIN) — The Canadian sports retail chain FGL Sports is recalling the Capix Evo and Capix Jr Evo Bike and Skateboard Helmets, which were sold exclusively through FGL Sports-owned retail stores between January and June this year.

WASHINGTON (BRAIN) — Dorel Industries' GT Bicycle is recalling a total of 154 GT Fury bikes in the U.S. and Canada because the hubs can break, causing the disc brakes to fail.

Trek has received 28 reports of broken forks.
The 2011 Scott Sportster Men is one of the models being recalled.

WASHINGTON (BRAIN) — Trek and Scott are each recalling thousands of mid-priced bikes sold between 2010 and 2013 because of concerns about the SR Suntour suspension forks used on the bikes.

TAIPEI, Taiwan (BRAIN) — Tern is recalling about 1,700 Tern Link folding bikes worldwide because of some frame failures.

WASHINGTON (BRAIN) — Scott USA is recalling about 2,000 road bikes in the U.S. — 2014 Speedster 30 and 40 and Contessa Speedster 25 and 35 models — because of concerns over possible steerer tube breakages.

The company has received one report of a broken steerer. The incident did not result in injury.

SAN DIEGO (BRAIN) — In cooperation with the Consumer Product Safety Commission, BMC is recalling three lifestyle bike models — Alpenchallenge, Masschallenge and Urbanchallenge — because of breakage issues with their Aprebic forks. The forks can break above the brake mount. No injuries have been reported, and the recall affects 160 bikes.

CHICAGO (BRAIN) — SRAM's new model year 2015 road hydraulic brakes are in production, but the company will not ship the brakes until early May. SRAM recalled its entire road hydraulic brake product line in December.

The 2008 Felt S22 is among the recalled bikes.

WASHINGTON, D.C. (BRAIN) — Felt Bicycles has expanded a recall, first announced in 2010, to include some earlier and later model year bikes.

BOSTON (BRAIN) — Stromer is recalling about 1,300 Stromer ST1 women's and men's e-bikes, models M33 Elite and P48 Platinum, because the fork can break during use. The company has received one report of a fork breaking, resulting in minor scrapes and bruises to the rider.
