WASHINGTON, DC (BRAIN) — Bell Helmets is working with the Consumer Product Safety Commission to recall about 2,500 BMX helmets sold exclusively at Toys R Us. The helmet's buckle can release on impact, allowing the helmet to fall off the rider.

PETALUMA, CA (BRAIN)—Yuba Bicycles is working with the Consumer Product Safety Commission on a recall affecting about 1,000 Mundo V4.0 cargo bikes after reports of two passengers on the back of the bike getting their feet caught in the rear wheel.

OLNEY, IL (BRAIN) — Magura has announced a recall of some of its hydraulic brake levers because they can fail in extreme cold conditions.

MORGAN HILL, CA (BRAIN) — Specialized is working with the Consumer Product Safety Commission to recall about 12,200 bikes due to faulty carbon forks. Models affected are the 2012 and 2013 Tarmac SL4, 2013 Crux and 2013 Secteur Disc complete bikes and framesets.

WASHINGTON, DC (BRAIN) — Norco and Wilier Triestina each separately issued bike recall notices Tuesday in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. Norco is recalling some 24- and 26-inch-wheeled dirt jumping bikes because the frames can break.

KENT, WA (BRAIN) — Diamondback is working with the Consumer Product Safety Commision on a recall of about 40 cyclocross bikes that were assembled with incorrect headset parts. The incorrect part could cause the steerer tube to fail, although the company has had no reports of incidents.

WASHINGTON, DC (BRAIN) — FLO Cycling is working with the Consumer Product Safety Commission to recall about 800 sets of rim tape sold with the company's FLO 60, FLO 90 and FLO Disc aero road wheels earlier this year.

WASHINGTON, DC (BRAIN) — Specialized is recalling about 12,000 Globe bike models because the fork can break. The company has received four reports of the forks breaking, resulting in facial, head and shoulder injuries.

WASHINGTON, D.C. (BRAIN) — Specialized has expanded its recall of some Tektro aero brake levers included with its S-Works Shiv framesets and bikes.

WASHINGTON, D.C. (BRAIN) — Shimano is working with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission to recall about 67 sets of PRO VIBE carbon handlebars.
The handlebars. manufactured by Great Go Cycles Inc., of Taiwan, can break during riding. No consumers have reported breakages, however.

WASHINGTON, D.C. (BRAIN) — Eecycleworks LLC is working with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission to recall about 400 of its eebrake caliper brakes for road bikes.

WASHINGTON, DC (BRAIN) Wednesday June 27 2012 9:39 AM MT—Big Cat Human Powered Vehicles is working with the Consumer Products Safety Commission to recall about 170 Catbike recumbent bikes.

LOS ANGELES, CA (BRAIN)—Currie Technologies is recalling certain models of its Tricruiser, an electric-powered adult tricycle. The company said the rear axle may break causing the rear wheel to detach. The Tricruiser was marketed under the IZIP and eZip brands.

WASHINGTON, D.C. (BRAIN)-Ridley Bicycle is recalling about 105 carbon fiber threadless stems because they can crack or break. So far the company has received one report of a stem breaking in use, resulting in minor injuries, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.

MORGAN HILL, CA (BRAIN) Wednesday April 18 2012 8:15 AM MT—Specialized is working with the Consumer Product Safety Commission to recall about 600 Tektro brake levers used on some of the company's aero/time trial bikes and sold in the aftermarket.

WASHINGTON, DC (BRAIN) Thursday April 12 2012 2:35 PM MT—Three bike manufacturers and SR Suntour are working with the Consumer Product Safety Commission to recall about 17,000 bikes because the SR Suntour suspension forks can fail.
