Sea Otter Product Picks Day 2

Published April 19, 2009

Bianchi returns to its roots with the Dolomiti, a classic steel frame with chrome lugs. The Dolomiti retails for $3,200. Bianchi is also showing a new version of its popular Pista track frame. The new Pista has beefier tubing and stays and an upgraded carbon fork. The frame retails for $700.

If you feel like SRAM’s 2010 Force gruppo feels like more like its top shelf Red, there’s a reason for that. The SRAM crew got such great feedback from the Red gruppo that they wanted to put some of those elements and features into Force, including race-inspired graphics, featuring its distinctive white logo against black carbon. SRAM Force also will move to a unidirectional (UD) finish instead of woven, which adds strength and provides a better substrate for graphics. Even with these improvements and the shedding of grams, pricing won’t change from 2009. BB30 will retail for $1,439 (1957 grams), GXP will retail for $1,399 (2097 grams).

Tifosi Scatto FC. These glasses have been so popular for the golf market, why not introduce them for bike—but with a larger lens and adjustable nose pad and ear pad. Hitting retailers in July. Single lens option: $40. Photochromatic lens: $60.

If you felt like your mountain bike lacked some color you might want to check out four SRAM component options that come in five different colors. Whether it be X.O shifters, X.O rear derailleur, PC990 cassette or a Truvativ Noir crankset (pictured)—feel free to mix or match, either way just bling away.

FSA launched a new line of wheelsets under its Vision brand at Sea Otter. The line includes the top-of-the-line, 1,730-gram Trimax Ultimate, which retails at $2,000; the Trimax Ultimate at $1,600; the Trimax Pro at $650; and the Trimax Disc at $1,700. The new line is a natural step in FSA's goal to broaden the Vision line, which caters to the time trial and triathlon markets.
