Trek engineer David Reuter continues to recover from crash

WATERLOO, Wis. (BRAIN) — David Reuter has started his long recovery from a mountain bike crash at the Little Switzerland Park in Milwaukee in June. Severe fractures to numerous vertebrae left him without control of his legs and doctors skeptical he would recover their use.

"He is walking now, albeit slowly, but nonetheless walking. His doctors originally thought that he may never walk again or have limited mobility," said Stefan Berggren, Trek's senior product compliance engineer.

"So for now he continues to make big strides in his recovery and will hopefully return to Trek and riding someday," added Berggren, who worked with Reuter at Trek.

Reuter's family opened pages on Caringbridge and Generosity for those wishing to follow Reuter's recovery.
