BTI opens factory service center in Reno

Published June 5, 2017

SANTA FE, N.M. (BRAIN) — Following the opening of BTI's new distribution center in Reno, Nevada, on May 1, the company is now debuting a revamped version of its suspension and disc brake repair center at the facility.

BTI Factory Service is an authorized warranty center for Formula and Cane Creek. It is an authorized service center for Kind Shock, Magura, Manitou, MRP, White Brothers, Hayes, and Hope. It also offers service on select Fox, Marzocchi, and Rock Shox forks and shocks. Factory Service offers a 90-day warranty on work performed.

BTI said staff additions are allowing for turnaround in as little as 48 hours. West Coast dealers can receive their completed repairs as fast as overnight via ground shipping.

BTI's Reno Factory Service team consists of Travis Anderson and Teague Strekal. Anderson, BTI's Reno Factory Service manager and head tech, is a former Hawley service technician and service manager at Utah's Red Rock Bicycle. Strekal, who worked as a manager at Veltec Sports and a REI bike technician, will act as assistant tech.

"BTI started in a humble garage 24 years ago as a suspension parts wholesaler and service center," said BTI's president, Preston Martin. "We continue that tradition today, with a trained staff and proper tooling to help shops handle overflow repairs, while still leaving margin for the dealer."

BTI now issues free UPS call tags for dealers wishing to ship products to the service center. The dealer simply prints the tag and hands the labeled carton to their UPS driver.  In another change, dealers can now view the status of their factory service orders throughout the process at the distributor's website.
