NBC Sports Group to broadcast Colorado Classic

DENVER (BRAIN) — The NBC Sports Group will televise the inaugural Colorado Classic pro road race on NBCSB and NBC Sports Gold. The four-day race is Aug. 10-13.

"NBC Sports is an international leader in coverage of cycling, and this partnership allows us to significantly expand our audience and share the excitement of the inaugural Colorado Classic with cycling fans throughout the state and across the globe," said David Koff, CEO of RPM Events Group, which owns the event. "This partnership also allows us to showcase Colorado, our host cities and the Colorado Classic in ways that will help propel us toward our goal of producing sustainable, entertaining cycling events on an annual basis."

Paul Sherwen will call the action on NBCSN and NBC Sports Gold, joined by analyst Christian Vande Velde and reporter Bob Roll.

Live coverage of all four stages will be streamed through NBC Sports Gold, which is accesible by subscribers through a web browser or devices like Roku.

The NBCSN channel will broadcast features on the race at the following times, all ET: 

  • Stage 1, Colorado Springs: Aug. 10, 6:30-8 p.m.
  • Stage 2, Breckenridge: Aug. 11, 7-9 p.m
  • Stage 3, Denver: Aug. 13, 1:30-3 a.m.
  • Stage 4, Denver: Aug. 13, 8:30-10:30 p.m.

The Colorado Classic also will share a package of video highlights each day on the event's website, mobile app and social media platforms.
