DURANGO, Colo. (BRAIN) — Tom Barney, the former CEO of Osprey Packs, has been appointed chief operating officer at Verde Brand Communications. Verde is branching out by launching a new venture, Verde Strategy, a strategic solutions consulting practice.
Verde said the new business "addresses business growth opportunities for companies in the active outdoor lifestyle markets."

Verde Strategy's focus areas include consumer-direct business development, key dealer and new dealer relationship procurement, management and growth, international business and distribution expansion, new market reach and product category expansion, specialty retailer problem-solving and modernizing, and organizational structure and strategic planning.
Verde Strategy also offers research and analysis for businesses within the outdoor active lifestyle markets.
Barney's first speaking engagement for Verde Strategy will be during next week's Outdoor Retailer Winter Market. He and Verde also will attend the SIA show in Denver later in the month.
