ST. AUSGUSTIN DE DESMAURES, Quebec (BRAIN) — Polartec has given its annual Apex Award to Louig Garneau for two of its products, the Garneau Cove Hybrid Jacket and Rocket Skirt. The award recognized the design of products using Polartec materials.

Garneau also won the award in 2014 for its Course Wind Pro LS Jersey and Arm Warmers.

"This award speaks to the significance of product development at Garneau. We are proud to collaborate with such an innovative fabric technology partner as Polartec," says Katy Bond, the brand's director of apparel. "We share a passion to design products that improve our enjoyment of the outdoor sports we love."

The Garneau Cove Hybrid Jacket and Rocket Skirt are part of the Fall-Winter 2016-2017 collection. The jacket uses Polartec Alpha insulation panels combined with stretchable inserts. The skirt also utilizes Polartec Alpha insulation.

"We put a lot of effort into developing the world's most advanced fabrics," said Gary Smith, Polartec's CEO. "It is a real honor to celebrate the creativity and technical prowess applied by our partners in these 2016 APEX Award winners."
