New England Builders’ Ball moving and expanding

Published August 9, 2016

THOMPSON, Conn. (BRAIN) — The New England Builders’ Ball hand-built bicycle show, held in conjunction with the KMC Cross Fest, is moving this year along with the cyclocross event from Providence, Rhode Island, to Connecticut’s Thompson Speedway. The move allows both events to expand.

Now in its sixth year, the Builders’ Ball is billed as New England’s only event celebrating hand-built bicycles. It also raises funds for East Coast Greenway Alliance, an organization spearheading development of a 3,000-mile trail system for cyclists and walkers connecting cities from Maine to Florida.

The Builders’ Ball will be held on Sept. 30 from 7 to 11 p.m., with ’cross racer actually cutting right through the venue. Builders’ Ball exhibitors are welcome to remain in their booths all weekend during the races.

Exhibitor registration is open. For more information or to register, visit newenglandbuildersball.com.

The Builders’ Ball is a production of Cogent, a Providence-based consulting firm focused on bicycle infrastructure and events planning.
