MONTEREY, Calif. (BRAIN) — BMX and mountain bike icon Mike King has been appointed a brand ambassador for the Turbine, a nasal dilator offered by Rhinomed. King joins Tour de France champion Chris Froome as an ambassador.
"We are very pleased that Mike has joined our team. Having another elite athlete of this caliber advocating the importance of improved breathing for athletes and backing our product as a means of achieving this is an important validation. We look forward to a long and successful partnership," said Rhinomed's vice president of global sales and marketing, Shane Duncan,
Duncan said that as well as lifting the company's profile among the cycling community, King will help build its network of brand ambassadors.
King said of the Turbine, "It has made a huge difference in my breathing so I can concentrate on the other areas of performance like power and bike handling. It has become a big confidence booster for me." The Turbine launched in Australia, and became available in the U.K. last October. Rhinomed also announced a deal with a distributor in Canada and most recently in the U.S. with the Walgreens/Duane Reade chain; the products will be available in the U.S. later this month.
