WILTON, Conn. (BRAIN) — Guru has released its global 2016 bike fit education course schedule for the Guru Academy's headquarters in Connecticut as well as Guru Academy Education Centers around the country.
"Guru is committed to preparing fitters around the world for today's bicycle retail environment," said Morten Kristiansen, Guru's general manager. "Our 2016 program provides access to industry-leading seminars and education on how to execute bike fits at a high level and provide fit services to every cyclist."
The first course at the Guru Academy in Bethel, Connecticut, will take place Jan. 25-26. Additional courses include a special Fit Institution Slowtwitch East seminar hosted by Dan Empfield in April, as well as a triathlon/time-trial course hosted by 51 Speedshop in June. Guru will also host training sessions at regional education centers in the U.S., Europe, Southeast Asia and more.
Courses at the Guru Academy's headquarters will be hosted by the Guru Academy's team of fit instructors. Key members include Mat Steinmetz (51 Speedshop Boulder), Dave Ripley (51 Speedshop Indianapolis), Jonathan Blyer (ACME Bicycle Co.) and Ian Murray (TTS Training). Each course at the Academy is managed by Jane Pearson, Guru's director of education and business development.
"We collaborate directly with the Guru team to develop a curriculum based on real-world bike fitting scenarios," said Mat Steinmetz, Guru Academy fit instructor. "The techniques that we cover at the Guru Academy are applicable to fitters of all experience levels and are compatible with any piece of fitting equipment."
