CALABASAS, Calif. (BRAIN) — Ride 2 Recovery will be involved with several road and mountain bike events in 2016 to provide its riders with a first step into the world of competitive cycling.
The organization said the goal of this program is to allow veterans to experience competitive events and to reach a higher level of performance cycling and possibly the Paralympic national team.
The five events are:
- Bear Claw MTB – April 2 in Simi Valley, Calif.
- Sea Otter Classic – April 14-17 in Monterey, Calif.
- Blood Sweat & Gears 100 – June 27 in Boone, N.C.
- Big Bear MTB Gran Fondo Grizzly 100 - July 30 in Big Bear, Calif.
- Leadville Trail MTB 100 Series – Aug. 20 in Leadville, Colo.
R2R veterans will receive a free entry fee into these events. Participants will need to furnish their own transportation and housing unless otherwise provided by the event.
