AMES, Iowa (BRAIN) — North America Cycles has hired Steven Harad as its director of sales. Harad will oversee the formation of a national sales force to begin selling parts, accessories, and bicycles to IBDs.

"I'm excited at the opportunity to bring North America Cycles to the IBD," said Harad. "Our goal is to offer a unique and diverse line of parts and bikes to dealers at competitive prices and two-day shipping within the continental U.S."

North America Cycles will offer parts and accessories from house brand M-Wave, and from German affiliate supplier Messingschlager's extensive catalog. Exclusive bike brands available include Bombtrack, Viva, and Strida as well as house brands.

Harad already has a sales force in place, including: Adam Wood (Colo., Wyo.), Steve Mahoney (Ore.), Bob Bellamy (Ohio, Ky., Ind.), Keith Murphy (Pa., N.Y.), Jeff Winnick (New England), Doug Register (Northern Fla.), Rich Harnisch (Southern Fla.), and Hank Montrose (SoCal, Nev., Ariz.). Trevor Whitehead will head up industrial sales of police bikes and rental fleets. Additionally, NAC now has two inside sales managers to handle inbound calls.

"We are thrilled to bring Harad onboard," said Matthew Nims of North America Cycles. "Steve brings years of invaluable experience working with dealers which we'll lean on to help us further introduce our brands and continue to grow as a reliable retail partner."
