Eastern Outdoor Reps Association lowers dues, hoping to attract more bike industry members

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (BRAIN) — For the second consecutive years, the Eastern Outdoor Reps Assocation has lowered its annual dues, in an effort to attract more members, especially from the bike industry.

At its annual board meeting in early October, EORA approved the reduction from $350 a year to $250 a year. "By keeping membership dues low, we are hoping to attract new individuals to the organization and grow our presence in the bike market," said Debbie Motz, the group's executive director. "We also wanted to ease the burden on reps paying dues to multiple rep groups. Our board members and our staff hear this concern a lot, so we wanted to do what we could to help make EORA as accessible as possible."

The board also agreed on show dates through 2018, and awarded $4,500 in grants to six organizations.

The not-for-profit association produces a series of regional trade shows (see event calendar) that encompass a wide array of retail categories, including lifestyle, specialty run, bike, resort and paddle sports.
