PARSIPPANY, N.J. (BRAIN) — Kent International is licensing the Margaritaville brand for a co-branded line of bikes, helmets and baskets.
The company has reached a three-year licensing agreement with Margaritaville Enterprises, LLC., which owns the trademark. Kent is also licensing the Land Shark and It's 5 o'Clock Somewhere trademarks from the company founded by singer Jimmy Buffett.
"Inspired by the lyrics and philosophy of singer, songwriter and author Jimmy Buffett, Margaritaville transports its guests to the island destination of their memories or dreams. Kent International will apply that essence of escapism and tropical spirit to the co-branded line, which will be distributed to all of its retailers in the United States," the company said.
"We are excited to produce Margaritaville, LandShark, and It's 5 o'Clock Somewhere bicycles and accessories," said Scott Kamler, president of Kent International. "Kent International prides itself on making bikes that are great looking, functional, and bring joy to the lives of its riders. Partnering with these like-minded brands was a natural fit for us."
Since launching its first restaurant location in Key West, Fla., in 1987, Margaritaville has expanded domestically and internationally, with restaurants, retail shops, vacation ownership and cruise partnerships, as well as resorts and casinos. The brand is also used on retail products including apparel, frozen concoction makers, home décor and food, beverage and spirits product lines.
