INDIANAPOLIS (BRAIN) — Silca, the heritage Italian brand now based in Indianapolis, is expected to be featured on National Public Radio's All Things Considered on Wednesday afternoon.
"Noah Adams from NPR did a story on us and it will be airing today at the end of the 4 o'clock hour," Silca owner Joshua Poertner told BRAIN in an email Wednesday.
"Turns out, Noah is a lifelong cyclist and Silca pump fan. It is his old Pista which serves as the commuter pump for NPR staff," Poertner said.
Adams visited Silca last month and also interviewed a handful of bike shops around the country, including BikeLine in Indianapolis and Grand Performance in St. Paul, Minnesota, Poertner said.
"I have no idea how it will all turn out, I get to hear it for the first time with everybody else, but thought I would try to spread the word. The vibe seems to be very positive, and it's not that often that our industry gets national press at this level, which NPR tells me will be roughly 12.5 million listeners on 660 stations."
BRAIN wrote about Poertner's efforts to re-build Silca last year.
