Fox expands MTB service out of Minnesota facility

Published August 19, 2014

SCOTTS VALLEY, Calif. (BRAIN) — Fox has expanded its Baxter, Minnesota, service facility to handle mountain bike products along with powersports, which the company said will improve service lead times across the U.S.

The Baxter facility complements Fox's West Coast facility in Watsonville, California, with Fox factory-trained technicians providing a full range of services including maintenance, upgrades, custom tuning and warranty support.

The Baxter facility has been handling powersports products for several years, but Fox ramped up the bicycle service last fall. The facility has been running a bike service program there since winter 2013.

“We hired six more people — four techs, one parts manager and one administrative person — and had them all train at our service center in Watsonville,” said Mark Jordan, global communications manager for Fox.

“We are continually looking at ways to improve customer service and get riders back on their bikes as quickly as possible," said Dennis Lane, Fox's vice president of sales and service. “The additional capacity that we now have in Baxter and its geographical location greatly facilitates these goals.”

Fox’s two mountain bike service centers are now operating on a two-day turnaround from the time the product is received in either facility. In addition, Fox matches the delivery speed for return shipping that the customer uses to get it to them.
