BOULDER, Colo. (BRAIN) — Slaying the Badger, a film based on Richard Moore's book about the 1986 Tour de France, will premiere at New York's Tribeca Film Festival this month. Prio to the first showing, on April 20, Moore will participate in a book signing and talk at the Rapha Cycle Club New York City, which is just a 15-minute walk from the premiere location.
The book and film are based on the battle between Greg LeMond and his teammate, Bernard "The Badger" Hinault at the Tour that year. The book was published in North America by VeloPress.
The event at the Rapha Cycle Club is Sunday April 20, from 3-4 p.m. The Club is at 64 Gansevoort Street. More information at rapha.cc/nyc.
The film premiere is the same day at 5:30 p.m. at the SVA Theatre, 333 West 23rd Street. Tickets are available through the theater. The film also will be shown April 23 at 4 p.m., at the AMC Village VII, 66 Third Avenue at 11th Street, NYC; and then on April 26 at 5 p.m. at Tribeca Cinemas, 54 Varick Street at Laight Street, NYC.
