DENVER, CO (BRAIN) – Continuing its support of high school mountain bike racing leagues, apparel maker Primal Wear has renewed its Gold Level sponsorship of the National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA). In addition to the financial support, Primal will also outfit student-athletes in the company’s Helix jersey.
“The growth of competitive cycling at the high school level has been remarkable over the past few years,” said Primal president Dave Edwards. “NICA has been able to create a nationwide community that is energizing the youth and getting them involved with cycling. This is the future of our sport and our industry and it is paramount that we make it a priority.”
Over the past three years, Primal has provided more than $300,000 in support to NICA, the company said in a release.
"As an organization who has supported NICA since our inception in 2009, we are thrilled to renew and expand our efforts with Primal Wear in 2014 to grow school-based cycling programs across the country,” said NICA executive director Austin McInerny. “… Primal Wear is living up to their stated mission to foster the growth of cycling and we are proud to continue and grow our partnership with them.”
