BAILEY, CO (BRAIN) — Mike McCormack has been appointed race director for the Bailey Hundo, a fast-growing 100-mile mountain bike race held west of Denver.

McCormack owns Uncommon Communications, a bike industry media relations firm, and also directs the Breck Epic MTB Stage Race and the Eagle Outside Festival.

The 2014 Bailey Hundo is set for June 14. The race takes place on the Buffalo Creek Trail System and includes sections of the Colorado Trail. The event benefits several nonprofits, including the Colorado Offroad Mountain Bike Association, Trips for Kids, the Colorado High School Mountain Bike League and the Bailey Trails stewardship organization.

“In just four years the Bailey Hundo has quietly distinguished itself as one of the very best ultra-endurance MTB events in the country,” said McCormack, “Because of its incredible single track and throwback vibe it’s an event that should be included on every rider’s bucket list. I’m honored to have been selected as race director and look forward to expanding upon the amazing body of work established by my predecessor, outgoing race director Brenda Hobgood.”
