MONTREAL, Quebec (BRAIN) — Robert Baird, group president and CEO of Dorel’s recreational and leisure segment, has left the company, Dorel announced Wednesday. Peter Woods, the segment’s CFO, has been named interim president until a new president is appointed.

Dorel said it has initiated a search for Baird’s successor. “We thank Bob for his service with Dorel and wish him well in the future,” Martin Schwartz, Dorel’s president and CEO, said in a statement.

Baird joined Dorel in 2005 as a member of the company’s board of directors. He became group president and CEO of the recreational and leisure segment in 2008. Before then he worked in executive capacities for a number of multi-national consumer goods companies, according to Dorel’s website.

Dorel’s recreational and leisure segment, Cannondale Sports Unlimited, houses its three cycling divisions and a range of brands including Cannondale, Schwinn, GT, Mongoose, Caloi, Iron Horse, Charge Bikes, Sugoi, InSTEP, KidTrax and Guru.
