Campagnolo hosts annual toy drive Dec. 7

Published November 19, 2013

CARLSBAD, CA (BRAIN) — Tis the season to be jolly ...  And for all the cycling elves in the industry seeking to spread some Christmas cheer join the seventh annual Campagnolo Toy Drive and Fun Ride.

The Dec. 7 event will roll out of Campy’s headquarter offices in Carlsbad at 9 a.m. and head toward Torrey Pines State Reserve and back—an estimated 36-mile roundtrip.

Tom Kattus, Campy North America’s general manager, said riders are expected to bring toys that will be donated to Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego. The toys should be unwrapped. “We are hoping for beautiful weather and tail winds,” he said. The toy drive will make the holiday season that much brighter for deserving children, he added.

The event has become a Southern California “must ride” for many in the industry. Last year, more than 100 cyclists left from Campy’s offices after downing hot coffee and a host of pastries. “There will be plenty of snacks to enjoy post ride as well,” Kattus said.

The offices are at 5431 Avenida Encinas, Carlsbad, CA, 92008. For further information, call (760) 931-0106.
