Matt Simpson leaves Alchemy

Published September 4, 2013

DENVER, CO (BRAIN) — Matt Simpson is stepping down as president of Alchemy Bicycle, a custom framebuilder.

Simpson, a former CEO of Pedro's, joined Alchemy in early 2012 as president and managing partner as the company relocated from Austin, Texas, to Denver. He told BRAIN that he is leaving to return to New England for personal family reasons. He said he retained some ownership in the company.

"I took the decision to move my family back to our hometown in New England this past June for personal family reasons but I will remain an Alchemy ambassador," he said. "It is too early to know what is next but for my wife and four young daughters this was the right decision. "

Simpson said he was proud of his accomplishments at Alchemy. "We relocated a business, hired some of the strongest industry talent, grew our dealer base both here in the U.S. and internationally, had a strong media presence and executed against our strategy of domestic integrated manufacturing in Denver, Colo. The feedback from our peers has been terrific. I am proud to have been part of such an amazing team at Alchemy and know they have some great things coming."
