Donovan leaves Interbike sales post

Published July 2, 2013

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO (BRAIN) — Downhill racing legend Leigh Donovan has stepped down from her sales position at Interbike to pursue her own business venture, the trade show presenter announced Tuesday.

“My experience working with the team at Interbike has been great, and I certainly learned a lot about the event business,” said Donovan. “I’m passionate about getting more women involved in the sport of cycling, and have some exciting things planned for the very near future.”

Donovan—a nine-time U.S. downhill champion and 1995 world champion, as well as an inductee into the BMX Hall of Fame last month—joined Interbike in February 2012 as an account executive, handling accounts on the West Coast and in New England. Interbike sales director Andria Klinger said she was sad to see Donovan go.

“Leigh is a hard worker and contributed to many of the new initiatives we implemented since her arrival,” Klinger said. “We will miss her enthusiastic personality and wish her the best moving forward.”

Interbike is seeking a replacement for Donovan’s position. Interested candidates can view the job posting on the BRAIN website for a listing of qualifications and requirements.
