Friday's Saris Gala: the biggest single-night advocacy event?

Published October 23, 2012

MADISON, WI (BRAIN) — Organizers of this Friday's 9th annual Saris Gala expect the event to maintain its status as the largest single-night advocacy fundraiser in the U.S. The Gala has raised more than $650,000 in its first eight editions.

This year's evening will support the creation of a local chapter of The Bicycle Federation of Wisconsin. Bike Fed Dane County will be the federation's first local chapter. Saris' Chris and Sara Fortune say they "believe this dedicated focus will help Dane County become a world class bicycling center."

The Gala is from 6-9 pm, at Saris Cycling Group's headquarters at 5253 Verona Road in Madison. The event includes costume contest, a live and silent auction, food and bevereges. Admission is $40 per person in advance or $50 at the door.
