Published September 13, 2012

BOULDER, CO (BRAIN) — Bikes Belong is in line for a $250,000 grant from Chase Community Giving and the organization is asking the bike community for votes to push it over the top in the grant program.

If the organization wins the full grant, it plans to half of it to help People for Bikes, a Bikes Belong program, reach its goal of gathering signitures from a million supporters. The other half would be used toward its Green Lane Project, a campaign to help cities build protected bikes lanes.

Bikes Belong already has enough votes to put it in 14th place, enough to qualify for a $50,000 grant. If the group can get enough votes tomake it to 11th place or higher, it will receive $100,000.

You can vote in several ways.

1. Go to the Chase Community Giving app on Facebook, enter "Bikes Belong" in the Search Charities field, then click "vote."

or

2. If you are a Chase customer, go to www.chasegiving.com, click on "Vote Now," search for Bikes Belong, and then click "vote."

You can vote both ways, giving Bikes Belong double the votes. Voting ends September 19.
