Magura picks up Dutch tire brand • SBS revamps computer system • Big Mig joins Vegas Gran Fondo

OLNEY, IL (BRAIN)—Magura Direct is taking over as U.S. distributor for Vredestein tires starting July 1. Previously, the Dutch tire company worked with Move Sport.

Magura Direct also distributes Magura's own brand of hydraulic brakes for mountain, time trial, tri and road as well as its suspension forks and German helmet and eyewear brand Uvex. “Adding Vredestein to our existing group of brands is a natural fit since our focus is on high-end European brands," said general manager Jeff Enlow.

All calls and orders will be directed to Magura starting June 25. It will have full stock of inventory by July 2 and fulfill all tire orders from then on. Move Sport will ship product until June 22. Magura Direct will maintain existing payment terms for established dealers.

SBS gets new computer system

KENT, WA (BRAIN)—Seattle Bike Supply is transitioning to a new computer system June 29 and is encouraging dealers to place orders early in the week to avoid delays.

Orders taken after 3 p.m. (dealer’s local time) on June 28 will not ship until July 2. The shipping schedule applies to all four of SBS’s distribution centers.

The company’s business-to-business website, www.seattlebikesupply.com, will go offline at 7 p.m. (PST) June 28. It will be up again July 2. The company recommends that dealers call the sales department directly to place orders and check availability during the down time.
