“Celebrating bike culture is an important part of what Interbike is all about, and ARTCRANK is an awesome showcase of creativity, talent and a love of bicycles,” said Elayna Caldwell, Interbike’s marketing director. “The ARTCRANK presentation at Interbike last year was a huge success, and we’re proud to partner with them to help promote our new neighborhoods and attractions in a fun and memorable way. At the same time, we really want to help promote these great artists who love bikes as much as we do.”

Maxxis updates DHR with new tread design
BOULDER, CO (BRAIN) Monday April 30 2012 7:58 AM MT—Maxxis is updating is popular Minion DHR tire with a new tread design that the company said will improve braking, corning and traction.
The Minion DHR II has wider side knobs for cornering traction. The center tread was totally redesigned using a paddle-like knob arrangement to keep the tire tracking straight under hard braking. To keep the tire rolling fast, the center knobs have been heavily ramped.
Sipes, or grooves, cut into the knobs improve traction and create a smooth transition between the center and shoulder tread.
The Minion DHR II is available now in a 26x2.40, wire bead, 2-ply downhill casing. The 3C MaxxGrip and single compound will reach distributors first, with Super Tacky to follow shortly after. MSRP is $76 for the single compound, $82 for the Super Tacky and $93 for the 3C MaxxGrip.
