MONTEREY, CA (BRAIN) Friday April 20 2012 4:51 AM MT—Norco is debuting its new performance road bike line, Tactic, at this week’s Sea Otter expo.

Designed for racing and developed in conjunction with Team H&R Block, the carbon fiber Tactic frame weighs in at just 900 grams for a 56cm, the lightest frame Norco has ever produced. It has arched seatstays, a press-fit BB30 bottom bracket, tapered headtube and new aero-binder post design.

Four models will be available for 2013, priced at $2,500 to $7,000, said Dustan Sept, public relations and marketing coordinator for Norco. Spec hasn’t been set, but a display bike at Norco’s booth was outfitted with Shimano Ultegra Di2. Sept said the line will likely top out with SRAM Red or Dura-Ace Di2.

Norco is also displaying its 2013 Fluid 9 line of price-point full-suspension 29ers. The three-model line, priced at $1,300 to $1,900, has Norco’s A.R.T. suspension, hydroformed tubing. The Fluid was previously available as a 26-inch bike.

For 650b aficionados, Norco also has a 160-millimeter-travel prototype in the in-between wheel size at its booth. Sept said the Canadian bike supplier may release two 650b models for 2013, with a second model boasting less travel.
