The company now has nine U.S. distributors including the new three and QBP, SBS, J&B, KHS, The Hawley Co. and Hans Johnson.
Vee Rubber Power and Performance Tires offers 15 low profile tires available in 26 inch, 650B, 29er and several models in 700C. Most tires are folding bead, dual compound and 120 TPI.

Louis Garneau hires new national sales manager
NEWPORT, VT (BRAIN) Feb 24, 16:04 MT—Louis Garneau USA, Inc. has hired David Cathcart as national sales director for the U.S. market.
Cathcart has over 15 years of sales, marketing, and management experience in the cycling industry, most recently as VP of sales at Saris Cycling.
“The leadership and prior success of Cathcart will be essential to Louis Garneau as we continue to grow and strengthen our brand and distribution in the US market,” said Garneau general manager Josee Ferland.
Pierre Perron, who has managed U.S. sales since 2004, is now the brand's global marketing director.
PITTSBURGH, PA (BRAIN) Feb 27, 09:46 MT—Dirt Rag magazine won the top award in the 2012 Aveda Environmental Award for Magazines. The award recognizes the best in sustainable publishing practices in the consumer and business to business sectors.
Last year, the prize's top honors went to Mother Jones and Experience Life.
Dirt Rag currently uses 90 percent recycled, Forest Stewardship Council Certified and Process Chlorine Free paper; the magazine also encourages its employees to bike to work.
Bikes Belong project to help cities build bike networks
BOULDER, CO (BRAIN) Feb 27, 09:25 MT—Bikes Belong is launching a project to help qualified communities build bicycle facility networks.
The Green Lane Project will select six cities by the end of March provide resources and technical assistance.
The campaign will build on the National Association of City Transportation Officials Urban Bikeway Design Guide and models from European cities using state-of-the-art solutions to develop streets that are safe and enjoyable for bicyclists. These designated lanes for bicyclists used in Europe are also referred to as cycle tracks or protected lanes.
They are new to the U.S, with a handful of major cities, including Chicago and New York experimenting with them. Interested communities may fill out an application by March 9th.
The SRAM Cycling Fund and the Bikes Belong Foundation provide core funding for the project with additional foundation support being recruited.
Spoke Insurance offers cyclists insurance
IRVINE, CA (BRAIN) Feb 27, 09:08 MT—Spoke Insurance, a new division of Sports Insurance Solutions, is offer bike insurance that the company said is the first of its kind.
The insurance is offered with limits as high as $100,000 to cover liability, $25,000 per occurrence and $50,000 aggregate for uninsured and underinsured motorists.
In addition, cyclists can choose up to $1,000 medical payment and opt to insure their bikes for physical damage and theft. The coverage is currently being written in Arizona, California, Nevada, Utah, Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Hawaii.
