BERKELEY, CA (BRAIN)—The NorCal High School Cycling League raised $75,000 at its seventh annual CycleFest fundraiser, held recently at the Mill Valley Community Center.
Vanessa Hauswald, executive director of the NorCal League, said, "We are truly grateful to all of those who contributed so generously to help us reach our fundraising targets at the CycleFest. The funds raised are essential in keeping the League in step with the growth that we expect for the 2011 season."
The NorCal CycleFest, which featured special guest Kenda/Seven Cycles rider Mary McConneloug and her pro racer husband, Mike Broderick, was generously supported by a long list of silent and live auction donors and sponsors. Heading this list were Trek Bicycles, Specialized Bicycle Components, Santa Cruz Bicycles, Mike’s Bikes, Western Spirit Cycling Adventures, Fox Racing Shox, Clif Bar and Co., Shimano, Luna Sport and Ritchey.
The weekend’s festivities, comprising a gala dinner and limited-entry mountain bike ride with McConneloug, raised a total of more than $75,000 and was attended by over 250 people.
