MEQUON, WI (BRAIN)—Hayes Bicycle Group has hired Adam Micklin as the company's new global director of sales.
Micklin brings over 25 years of industry experience in strategic sales and leadership with some notable brands.
Prior to joining Hayes Bicycle Group, Micklin was most recently the OEM sales senior manager for Shimano American Corporation. Micklin has also held senior sales management positions with Mavic and Hutchinson Tires in addition to owning his own sales management group responsible for the North American sales with international brands such as Formula Disc Brakes, Wipperman Chains and Gipiemme Wheels.
“I couldn’t be more excited to join the Hayes Bicycle Group,” Micklin said. “It’s an exciting group of product and brands that clearly have momentum in their respective categories. I’m looking forward to working with a great team of passionate bike people and leading the sales group towards realizing tremendous growth in the coming seasons.”
“We’re thrilled to have Adam on board,” said Darren Campbell, VP/GM for Hayes Bicycle Group. "Over the past two seasons we’ve made significant investments in bringing innovative new products to market within each of our brands. We’ve also made considerable investments in both sales and marketing. With Adam’s vast industry experience and leadership I’m looking forward to continued growth in 2011 and beyond.”
Micklin is one of several recent additions to the sales and marketing departments at Hayes Bicycle Group. Luke Musselman, formally a regional account rep from Cannondale, was brought on board in August as OE sales account manager. Hayes veteran Clayton Goldsmith was promoted to the position of after market sales manager in July. Scott Struve, joined Hayes back in May as director of marketing and product management.
Micklin will begin working with Hayes Bicycle Group the first week in December when he will attend the Ride On Camp in Taichung. He will be based out of California so that he can maintain close proximity to a number of customers.
Married for 20 years, Micklin has two daughters, is an avid cyclist both on and off the road, and apparently can belt out a few tunes on the trumpet.
