LAGUNA HILLS, CA (BRAIN)—Dean Severson has joined the BRAIN team as the magazine’s creative director.
Severson has 15 years experience in marketing, advertising and the arts. His expertise lies in graphic design, web design, advertising, marketing and social networking. He has owned and run his own design firm, Haute House Creations, for the past 10 years. He has worked with clients in the automotive industry such as Hyundai and Toyota and major sporting goods and lifestyle brands such Asics and Airwalk.
In addition to laying out print issues, Severson will lead design direction for the print magazine, create sales and marketing collateral and work with the BRAIN staff to develop new digital products.
“Dean brings a broad creative background with design influences from outside the industry. His fresh perspective and design sense will enhance the overall appearance of the magazine and its digital offerings,” said Megan Tompkins, the magazine’s editor.
Severson is a California native, who's lived up and down the state, settling in So Cal in 1996. His love for cycling developed in 1985 when as a kid he saw Greg LeMond win the Coors Classic in Colorado, and he has been a fan ever since.
“This role combines my passion for design along with my love of a healthy lifestyle and the positive influence of cycling. It’s nice to be promoting something like cycling that is honestly good,” said Severson.
