LEESBURG, VA (BRAIN)—What once started off in a retailer’s parking lot, Le Cirque du Cyclisme (Circus of Cycling) has grown up quite a bit in its 13th year.
“I would like to grow it some more,” said event promoter Wayne Bingham, who also owns Mel Pinto Imports.
The festivities start today (running through tomorrow) at the Leesburg, Virginia Best Western where there will be organized rides, a charity auction, a seminar series and other social activities.
The main event will be a vintage bike show and swap meet held at the Loudon County Fairgrounds this Sunday. “We’re trying to create a show on Sunday that appeals to a more broad audience,” Bingham said.
Custom builders registered for this year’s event feature some recognizable names including Brian Baylis, Stephen Bilenky, Peter Weigle and Dave Bohm, as well as newcomers Dave Wages (Ellis Cycles), Drew Guldalian (Engin Cycles), Chris Bishop and Tom Palermo.
