NEWBURY PARK, CA (BRAIN)—Monica Davis is joining Giant Bicycle in the role of regional sales manager, west. She begins her new position on Monday, October 26.
For the past nine years, Davis has worked for Michelin North America, most recently as marketing and sales manager for bicycle products. In announcing her move to Giant, Gregg Frederick, Giant’s director of sales and business development, said, “This is very exciting; I know Giant retailers will be thrilled. Through her hard work with Michelin, Monica has been a long-time partner with Giant and she has relationships with many of our current retailers, as well as a lot of non-Giant dealers throughout the U.S.
“We wanted a stand-out individual for this position who already has a network of dealer relationships, who compliments the current Giant sales management team, and who can step right in to oversee all the links between our account executives and our retailers west of the Mississippi,” Frederick added. “Monica fits all those criteria and more.”
Davis said she is looking forward to joining Giant because, “I’ve had a close relationship with Giant for several years now and have had the opportunity to become familiar with the brand, its structure, integrity, equity, and—above all—the people behind the brand. This position gives me the opportunity to get closer to the retailers and build those relationships in a more personal manner.”
She continued, “I look forward to partnering with Giant retailers in reaching their goals, capitalizing on the Giant brand, and keeping the momentum of the Giant sales team moving forward.”
Her new job with Giant means Davis will leave Greenville, SC, her home for more than a decade. “It’s one of the most beautiful parts of our country to live in,” she said. “The hardest part will be leaving friends and some of the best motorcycle and cycling roads in the country.” Asked where she will most likely relocate, she said, “Even though I begin with Giant next Monday, it’s a few more months before I make the move across the country. But, as it stands now, Colorado is at the top of my list.”
