QBP Partners with ARS for POS Software

Published August 20, 2008

BLOOMINGTON, MN (BRAIN)—Quality Bicycle Products is now working with ARS Business Solutions, a developer of advanced point-of-sale (POS) and inventory management systems, to help tailor its software for use by bicycle retailers.

According to QBP director of sales and customer service Todd Cravens, QBP’s updated list of POS partners include ARS, AIMSi (Tri-Technical Systems), Ascend and Digital Retail Solutions.

Equipped with an easy-to-use interface, ARS lets retailers do on-line stock and price checks from a POS station and submit purchase orders (PO) electronically to QBP.com. It can also automatically reconcile POs and invoices and update store inventory the day after an order ships.

“When paired with QBP’s high fill rate and order accuracy, this technology could eliminate the need for manual receiving,” Cravens said. “It has the potential to save bike dealers significant time and expense, particularly during peak times when they need every hand on the shop floor.”

Because the stock and price check feature provides up-to-the-minute data about any item in the QBP inventory, it will help dealers speed transactions and better serve their customers. The system can also deliver daily updates from the QBP catalog directly to the retailer’s POS, eliminating tedious data entry tasks.

“This software reduces the cost of the entire product procurement process, from ordering to receiving,” Cravens said. “Combined with our wide-ranging assortment and rapid delivery, it gives QBP customers yet another critical competitive advantage in today’s aggressive business climate.”
