(BRAIN) — The CMR Light i30 mountain bike wheelset expands WTB's carbon wheel lineup. The CMR Light comes spec'd with WTB's World Cup Frequency 7X hubs, and with TCS tubeless tape and values, the brand says the wheelset weighs 1,300 grams.
The patent-pending hub-rachet interface can handle "demanding loads," according to WTB, adding the ratchet has a Diamond-Like Carbon coating that lowers friction. The hubs, which have centerlock disc mounts, use Enduro bearings, including freehub bearings that increase the load rating per bearing by 38% compared with "competitive rear hubs," according to WTB.
The hookless rims are 30mm wide internally with external spoke-hole reinforcement, and 4D spoke drillings optimize load distribution and overall wheel strength, according to the brand. Each wheel has a 24-spoke configuration.
Wheelset MSRP in the U.S. is $1,800, with the front wheel $850 and rear wheel $950.
