(BRAIN) — Auto brand MINI is releasing two e-bike models next year, manufactured by Angell Mobility in France.
The bikes are available in two frame sizes and two color schemes. The "M" size is said to be ideal for taller riders while the "S" size has a lower top tube for easier access for smaller riders or those who prefer a lower standover height.
The colorways are Ocean Wave Green and Vibrant Silver.
MINI will produce 1959 bikes of each colorway, corresponding to the year the MINI car company was formed.
The bikes feature turn signals at the bar-ends and at the rear, custom fenders and chainguards, and a touch screen head unit on the integrated stem. They have a locking/unlocking function operated from a smartphone or Apple Watch and a high-decibel alarm system. They also are covered by Angell's two-year warranty, which includes a theft-replacement program.
The bikes also have leather-free Brooks England saddles and grips. The bikes, initially available only in Europe, will retail for €3,490 (about $3,700). The company began accepting pre-orders on Sept. 19.
