Zoom HRV is a wearable that tracks heart rate variability and other factors

Published March 22, 2017

BOULDER, Colo. (BRAIN) — Lifetrak's Zoom HRV is a wearable that tracks heart rate variability as well as more typical fitness wearable metrics, including heart rate, steps, ambient light and sleep quality.  HRV measures the time interval between heartbeats. Some athletes use HRV to assess their recovery from training, but doing so typically requires a chest strap. The Zoom HRV measures HRV at the wrist, allowing athletes to measure HRV 24/7.

The Zoom HRV is also watertight and able to measure cycling cadence when worn on the ankle, making it an option for swimmers and triathletes. Zoom was first announced last year as a Kickstarter campaign but was canceled with three weeks left when the company was offered outside funding. It's now available on Amazon and on the Lifetrak website for $139.99. The company also is selling through speciality retailers.
