SAVAGE, Minn. (BRAIN) — Wolf Tooth Components has announced a bunch of new products, including new cogs, chainrings and chainguides. The company showed the new products at the Frostbike event last weekend.
Wolf Tooth's GCX46 is a 46-tooth cog that replaces the 42-tooth cog on SRAM's XX1 and X01 cassettes, resulting in an 11-speed 10-46T range.
"The 46T offers a true bailout gear, within half of a shift of SRAM's Eagle, and crisp shifting, all while keeping the same tighter gear spacing further down the cassette," the company said. It said switching from the stock 42-tooth cog to the GCX46 has the same effect as reducing chainring size by three teeth.
The new Gnarwolf chain guides are available in braze-on, high-direct mount and seat tube-mount options; it was previously available only for ISCG05 mounts. The new options make it applicable for single-chainring road, gravel, cyclocross and mountain bikes with no ISCG mounts.
Wolf Tooth's new 76 BCD chainrings are replacement chainrings for SRAM's XX1 cranks and other OEM 76 BCD cranks (like Specialized Stout). It uses standard M8 chainring bolts so it is compatible with all 76 BCD cranks.
Finally, the company's new 64 BCD Universal chainring is an update to the company's existing 64 BCD chainring, so it works with new Shimano 11-speed cranks in addition to standard 104/64 BCD cranks. Previously, 30T was the smallest single chainring for the Shimano 11-speed cranks, but the new ring allows riders to use 26 or 28T sizes.
