Planet Bike launches headlight with touch-screen switch

Published November 28, 2016

MADISON, Wis. (BRAIN) — Planet Bike is now shipping its new Touch 800 headlight, which features Touch Technology. The light offers 800 lumens of output and four additional light modes available with a swipe of the user's finger.

The company said the light uses the same technology as a mobile phone's touch screen and allows cyclists to move between three brightness modes and the Superflash and Courtesy pulse modes. Additionally, amber side lights keep riders visible from traffic approaching from the side.

The Touch 800 is the brightest light in Planet Bike's lineup. It uses a CREE XPL LED with engineered optics and a Panasonic 3350 mAh Japanese-made micro USB rechargeable Li-Ion battery. It is tested to ANSI FL1 flashlight standards and rated for dust and water resistance to the IP66 Ingress Protection standard. It retails for $99.99.
