Software update adds navigation features to Wahoo ELEMNT

Published November 18, 2016

ATLANTA (BRAIN) — Wahoo Fitness has released a major software update for its ELEMNT GPS bike computer. The free update adds turn-by-turn navigation features to the device, making use of the LEDs on the unit's sides to signal upcoming turns.

With the help of the ELEMNT's companion app on iOS, users can search for destinations or points of interest and create routes that are then synced with the ELEMNT via Bluetooth. Additionally, routes created with RideWithGPS and Komoot can now be synced to the device over Bluetooth or WiFi. The update also adds a Follow Your Tracks feature that lets users follow a breadcrumb path back to their starting point.

Riders will be able to install the update either within the companion app or directly on the ELEMNT. The ELEMNT retails for $329.99.
