LOUISVILLE, Colo. (BRAIN) — Wheels Manufacturing is now shipping its new road hubs. The updated design places the hub flanges and bearings as far from the hub center as possible creating strong, stiff wheels with a minimum amount of rim flex, the company said. The hubs have 100mm front and 130mm rear spacing. They are available with a Shimano-compatible 11/10 speed freehub body, with a Campy freehub body coming soon.
The design features a rear hub shell that extends through the cassette body for reduced axle deflection and bearing wear.
The rear hub retails for $440 with Enduro stainless steel bearings. Add $115 for Enduro ZERO ceramic bearings. The hub's threaded axle assembly was designed to make hub service easiler; bearing adjustment is achieved with a "spacer lock" system. The cassette body is machined from 7075 aluminunum with three oversized pawls.
The front hub retails for $180 wth Enduro stainless steel bearings, or $75 more with Enduro ZERO bearings.
The hubs are available in silver, red, or black anodized colors. They have two-year warranty on the hub and one year on the bearings. Wheels expects to offer complete wheels soon.
